We're delighted to continue shaping our squad with a trio of signings across defence, midfield and attack.

Joint Managers Lee Rick and Steve Yarwood have added Jacques Etia, Aaron Fleming and Samuel Oko to our ranks for the 2026/27 season.

Jacques Etia

The 23-year-old explosive attacker is comfortable anywhere along the front line and joins West after scoring 28 goals in 63 starts across two seasons at Glossop North End.

LR: "We're thrilled to welcome Jacques to the club. He was our main target at the top of the pitch and we're delighted he's agreed to join. Having worked with him before, I know exactly what he will bring.

He's an exciting, direct player who has the ability to entertain and get supporters off their seat. He scores goals, creates chances and has a proven record of good numbers every season. He'll be a real asset for us and I’m certain he will become a real fans' favourite."

JE: “I love the energy of the club and the community, which is something I’m all about. I’ve played with Lee and I’ve been coached by him and he’s always believed in me so this is the right place for me to continue to progress. I believe massively in the club and the staff.

I'll give it all on the pitch, for the badge, for the club, for the fans, for the kids watching. I want to be a light to inspire and motivate. I'm a firm believer in taking every game as it comes, enjoying it and having a good time.”

Aaron Fleming

The 31-year-old can play anywhere down the left wing and brings great experience to West, including spells in Belgium and Gibraltar.

LR: "We’re delighted to welcome Aaron to the club. Strengthening this area of the pitch was one of our top priorities Aaron was again our first target. He possesses all the attributes needed to make a real impact and his experience of playing at Steps 3 and 4 will be invaluable on and off the pitch, helping to drive standards within the group."

AF: "I like to get the ball out of my feet and use my pace to beat my man. I love putting early crosses in and getting assists, and chipping in with a couple of goals.
The Midland League is similar to the Counties and we've got to be pushing to win it."

Samuel Oko

The 26-year-old versatile midfielder was Ashton Athletic's Player of the Year for 2025/26, also winning NWCFL divisional awards during the season, and counts Abbey Hey, Chadderton, Stockport Georgians and Alsager Town as his former clubs.

LR: "I'm really pleased to bring Samuel to the club. He deserves this opportunity to step up after an outstanding season where he collected a number of individual awards and recognition.

After speaking with him it was clear that he has the attitude and mentality we’re looking for. Those qualities, combined with his technical and physical attributes, make him an exciting addition to the squad."

SO: "Lee got in touch to say he'd seen my performances last season and that certain members of the West board had seen me play. It's nice to be recognised like that.

I'm versatile, I'm attacking and can also do the defensive work. I'll bring a lot of energy on the pitch and I'll do whatever I can do ensure the team does well.

The ambition is promotion, doing well in the league has to be the number one aim for the team."
