2026/27 Pre-Season | West Women

We are pleased to announce the pre-season schedules for West Women's First and Reserve teams.

First Team

Just as it did last season, pre-season for West Women's First Team will kick off with a home match against fellow NWWRL Premier Division side FC United of Manchester. Due to ongoing maintenance work to the main pitch at the Step Places Stadium, this match will take place on Hardy Farm. It will kick off at 3pm, and will be the second part of a double-header following the Reserve Team's match against a Chorley XI at 1pm.

West then make the short journey to Wythenshawe FC for a tough test against the side who finished 4th in the National League Division One North last season (19th July - 2pm ko). The Ammies have been moved laterally ahead of the new season, and will be participating in the National League Division One Midlands for 2026/27. 

It's then a trip north to face Blackburn Rovers at their training ground (26th July - 4pm ko). Rovers finished bottom of the National League Division One North last season, but they will remain at that level after being granted a reprieve from relegation.

West then return to the main pitch at the Step Places Stadium on Sunday 2 August to host Leek Town at 2pm. Leek Town play at the same non-league step as West, and finished one place above the drop zone in last season's West Midlands Regional Women's Football League. 

The First Team's final pre-season test comes at Ericstan Park against Wythenshawe Town (9th August - 2pm kick off).

Reserve Team

Ahead of their first season in NWWRL Division One South, the Reserves start their pre-season with a home match against an XI from Chorley FC, which will take place on Hardy Farm at 1pm before the First Team's match against FCUM later that afternoon.

This is followed by a trip to Darwen, who are regular opponents of the First Team in the NWWRL Premier Division. It's then matches against the reserves sides of Bury and FC St Helens, before finishing with a home match on Hardy Farm against Blackburn Community on 9th August at 2pm.
