We round off a busy Bank Holiday weekend with a trip to Northwich Victoria on Monday.

The Vics - otherwise known as the Trickies, the Victorians and the Salt Men - have got the better of West across the seven previous meetings between the sides, with four wins to West's two. West's last victory in this fixture was a famous 3-2 win in the 2022/23 FA Cup Preliminary Round, settled by a late Curtis Miller goal.

The Vics are currently playing at Runcorn Linnets' Apec Taxis Stadium, a significant venue in West's history. It was the setting of our most recent silverware, after a 1-0 victory over Abbey Hey to take the 2012/13 NWCFL Division One Trophy, thanks to a Lee Makin goal.

We make the journey to Runcorn following a comfortable 4-0 win at Darlaston Town on Saturday, thanks in part to a Joe Berks hat-trick. That win moved West up to 3rd in the fledgling MFL Premier Division table.

Monday's hosts have made a strong start to the season, remaining unbeaten in the league and winning an eye-catching FA Cup tie against Bootle last week. They were tested by Abbey Hulton on Saturday, finding themselves 2-0 down at half time and 3-2 down as late as the 85th minute before recovering to win 5-3.

We've won all three of our previous August Bank Holiday away games - at Barnton in 2019, Winsford in 2022, and City of Liverpool last year.

The nearest train station is Runcorn East, just under a mile away. There's a good sized car park on-site, but don't forget to pay the toll charge for the Mersey Gateway Bridge if you are travelling that way into Runcorn. The nearby Creamfields festival will likely result in increased traffic in the area.
