West this Weekend
We have two clashes against teams at the top end of the table this weekend, with both senior teams in search of three points that will keep our league campaigns rolling.
At home, West Women host Bury FC this Sunday. Third vs Fourth in the table, it promises to be a tight contest between two closely matched sides. Following last weekend's win on the road to Poulton Vics, this is the first of consecutive home games for West Women - and with free Nell's Pizza for those in attendance.
Before that, West Men head to top of the table Winsford United. Having been bested by the Blues on home turf already this campaign, Lee Rick will take heart from a late comeback away at Cheadle Town in midweek, and hope to get points on the board in our playoff chase.
Saturday: Winsford United (A)
3pm, Barton Stadium Winsford CW7 3AE
Saturday's hosts may currently sit top of the table, but they come into the fixture with a point to prove. They welcomed second placed Runcorn Town to the Barton Stadium on Tuesday and were put to the sword for only their third defeat of the campaign. With both Runcorn and Northwich Victoria holding two games in hand, Winsford now sit third on points per game and will be eager to respond quickly.
Sunday: Bury FC (H)
2pm, Brookburn Road M21 8DP
History repeated itself last Sunday, as West Women went to Poulton Vics and clung on to an early lead to take home all three points. A Zoe Anderson goal was enough to clinch it for West, as she capitalised on a spilled Ellie Caddick free-kick to slot home from range after 10 minutes and take us back up to third in the table.
