Fixture Update | Cup Draws

As discussed in last month's Bugle, the Midland Football League Cup and Lancashire FA Trophy were identified as ideal opportunities for Jeff Crewe's Reserve Team to continue the superb work developing the pathway from the Academy to the First Team.

Jeff will lead the team - which has already provided a springboard to the First Team for Latiq Roberts and Claudio Oliveira - in both competitions, starting in the autumn.

The opening two rounds of the Midland Football League Cup were drawn over the weekend.

West have received a bye in the 1st Round, to be played w/c 28th September, and will travel to Northwich Victoria in the 2nd Round, to be played w/c 26th October.

We have also received the Lancashire FA Challenge Trophy 1st Round draw, where West have again received a bye.

23 teams entered the draw, meaning nine were given were byes to create a round-of-16 from the 2nd Round stage.

The 1st Round draw, to be played w/c 14th September, is as follows:

Bamber Bridge v Colne
Fulwood Amateurs v Padiham
Ashton Athletic v Atherton Collieries
Garstang v Southport
Clitheroe v Chorley
Thornton Cleveleys v Ramsbottom United
Daisy Hill v Atherton LR

Byes were received by: Darwen, Euxton Villa, Lancaster City, Longridge Town, Prestwich Heys, Radcliffe, Squires Gate, West Didsbury & Chorlton, and Wythenshawe.

We'll therefore enter at the 2nd Round stage, draw TBC, to be played w/c 16th November.
